  • 1) From the text we can say that to make a good ghost story you need : suspense, vocabulary or adjectives that describes the characters emotions (for example like "shocked" or "screamed"), a good plot, some dialogue to make it seem real.  

    2) The couple didn't arrive at their destination because they had a late start, in other words they didn't leave early enough to arrive in time for supper, like they usually do.

    3) Instead, the couple went to "a small house in the woods" but they will later discovered that it was burned a long time ago and that it no longer existed.

    4) We can see that the elderly couple were really welcoming : they insisted on not being paid, they were offered some coffee and some cake when they arrived and even though the rooms weren't for rent they generously accepted to lodge them.

    5)The young couple did not see their hosts before they left as they got up early in the morning.

    6) The couple are incredulous since the woman said that she couldn't believe it, they just stood there for a moment meaning that they were in shock and the woman also screamed.

    In conclusion, i think that there are ghosts. Simply because when the young couple returned to the house after talking to the owner of the restaurant the house wasn't there anymore.
